One of my better shots of a snow flake. Here's how I did it.
I have some close up lenses that attach to my 18- 55mm lens. Then I zoom out all of the way with the lens, hold my breath and snap away. I will also try to lean against something so I can hold the camera as still as possible. Most of my pics are taken from the top of my grill (black backround) and another easier spot is on the car windows. That way you can lean on them and steady the camera with out having to be in a weird position. The best flakes are the fluffy ones...they have the most detail. My flash on the camera is to bright, so I try to take pics during the day. The ones at night I use a flash light.
