Location
This was taken just outside the town of Rodberg, Norway. I was there visiting my brother and his wife during the Christmas holidays in 2011.Time
I remember this was taken in the late afternoon / early evening, it was still pretty bright and we were driving into the town on a supermarket run when I noticed this frozen river through the window of the car.Lighting
It was still bright but the sun was low.Equipment
I shot this with a Nikon D5000 and the 35mm AF-S 1.8 prime.Inspiration
To be honest it was just a moment of true luck to be driving past at the right time and looking out of the window in the right direction, I saw this amazing frozen landscape and just had to stop the car and get out to capture it.Editing
I adjusted the brightness and contrast in colour before importing it into Google's Nik Collection Silver Efex Pro to convert into black and white. In my camera bag
Well at the moment I am mainly shooting with my FujiFilm X-T10 and the XC16 - 50mm lens, also a Nikon to FujiFilm lens converter with my 35mm 1.8 AF-S (love this lens) and I always carry my IPhone 6s around with me to capture any moments I might encounter when I don't have my camera bag.Feedback
I would recommend a trip to Rodberg and the Numedal valley region in Eastern Norway, there are so many amazing landscapes throughout the entire year, whether it be the frozen landscapes in the winter or the amazing lush greens in the summer, there is always something to capture and inspire there. But remember always be on the look out, as you never know what you will pass.
