The photo was taken in our family-home backyard, back in 2010. I have to say, the fact that people seem to really like this picture comes as a big shock to me, considering I was 15 and just starting to try out photography when I took it. I didn’t know how to capture what I intended to through the lens clearly, but I thought of it as a hobby and I just loved this photo because even if things worked out technically, what I remember most is how much I enjoyed doing this, with all the freedom I had to do it (even if it meant I wasn´t aware of many technicalities, to be honest!).Time
The photo was taken at noon, the sun was shining strong and the sky was clear.Lighting
The picture was taken in October, therefore, Spring was just beginning in my country (I am from Argentina). There sky was very clear on that day and the natural lighting was enough, luckily.Equipment
Back then I would just use a point-and-shoot digital camera that belonged to my family and it’s a Sony DSC-W5.Inspiration
Every day after school, I would take some time for myself and go out to our backyard and take some pictures. Seeing as in just a couple of days the scenery wouldn´t change much, I started looking for different angles and ways to photograph the same things. On that particular day I tried lying down on the grass and found that angle! Looking back, I think this is what made me realize I loved photography so much, and what it is that I want to achieve through it.Editing
I did use Instagram, but I barely changed some details as I didn’t feel it would need much post-processing. I’m still learning a lot, so I try to do it as carefully as I can.In my camera bag
I usually carry my phone with me. However, I have with time, raised enough to get a Nikon D5200, with an 18-55mm lens, which has helped me improve a lot. And that’s about it for me, for now! Frankly, so far, I’ve considered this an interesting challenge!Feedback
To be honest, most of the time I feel I am the one who could use the advice, rather than give it! But I can say that I’ve spent a lot of time looking at photos online, reading and watching tutorials, too. There weren´t many “formal” ways of studying photography in my hometown, but I would always try different things on my own, and so I believe that’s why and how I’m finding my own photographic style. Anyway, I just try to learn as much as I can from everything around me! Thank you so much for this, and as English is not my first language I apologize if there are any mistakes.
