Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in north wales while my mum was driving the car along the Nant Peris pass while i was taking pictures and managed to snap this spectacular view of the snowy mountains with the fog between the mountains in the valley

Time

I took the photo on Sunday, 17 January 2016 15:19 one cold day after it had snowed the night before me and my mum decided to go on a drive to admire the mountains with their snowy caps on

Lighting

It wasn't the best of light to be taking pictures in but I liked the moody effect of the dark grey clouds mixed with the white ones and the fact that the snow looked even whiter on the mountain tops

Equipment

I was using a NIKON D3200 with a Tamron 70-300mm Tele Macro lens hand held which is how i always take my pictures as im not keen on using tripods

Inspiration

When i am out and about with my mum who is always driving her car im always looking out the window in the passenger seat and if i look into the distance and see something that will look great in a picture i always wait untill the last minute as we are driving past to take the shot as i feel my pictures turn out better if im not messing with angles and things and just take a picture on the spur of the moment i just feel more inspired at the challenge of trying to get a great pictures while in a moving car

Editing

I had to adjust just a little bit of detail and colour correction to make the image look how i saw it before i took the picture within photo shop

In my camera bag

I always have my boyfriends nikon D3200, Tamron 70-300 f4-5.6 tele macro A17 lens and a nikon micro 40mm f2.8 dx lens ( for my close ups ) and a spare battery also spare memory cards

Feedback

I would say dont try too hard cause otherwise you will never be happy with your photo try to be spontaneous also always be aware of the weather conditions as they can change very fast when you are in the mountains and if you are walking always be aware of your surroundings as the ground can be very uneven and even the best walker can lose their balance and fall and most important have fun
