Behind The Lens

Location

this photo was taken in January 2016 from my home which is about 200+kms away from a fire burning in the South West of Western Australia, the smoke traveled very far & has covered the sun

Time

the time i took this photo was between 6 & 7 pm at sunset

Lighting

just what ever daylight i had left

Equipment

i used a Canon 450d camera with a Canon 75-300mm lens

Inspiration

we had huge bush fires in January in our South West of Western Australia (Waroona - Yarloop - Harvey) just to name a few towns, that lasted for almost 2 weeks very devastating, the smoke from them travels a very long way, i just look out of my lounge room window & see the sun covered in smoke & thought this is something so beautiful out of something so devastating so i raced outside & took this photo

Editing

no processing done just straight out of the camera, i can't remember the settings

In my camera bag

another camera - Fuji Film FinePix S5700 it takes pretty good photos, 2 lenses - Canon 18-55mm & my new lens i got after ''Tamron 16-300mm lens''

Feedback

settings i used ''aperture - f/9'' - ''ISO - 100'' - ''SP - 1/200'' - ''Focal Length - 300/1'' i just went outside not worrying about the settings all i wanted to do is to take the photo before the sun went down, im just lucky i got a good photo but maybe it is a good idea to check your settings before because the sun goes down fast & you might miss a good shot while you are mucking around with the settings
