When I plan to go take pictures I usually have a Canon 40D with a 24-135mm lens and a GoPro hero 3 silver along with sd cards and extra batteries.Feedback
My advice would be to try to take as many photos as possible when on vacations or trips to places you've never been. These places should be remembered and captured. The more pictures you take the more chances the world has to see your creations.
