Less than a mile off Hawaii's Lanikai coast are the Mokulua islands (Mokes for short). These twin islands are bird sanctuaries, and a place I'll always remember for good times swimming in the 7ft deep natural lava rock pool, the occasional monk seal sunbathing, and enjoying the view with good beer and even better friends..
