Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a tunnel in whitford, as i got out there i realized i didn't have my tripod

Time

It was taken around 7-9pm. I cant really remember its an old photo.

Lighting

We had nothing but the tunnel lights and a burning piece of steel wool.

Equipment

I used a Sony A33 with a 18-55 kit lens. I know not the best

Inspiration

This was the first time shooting steel wool burning so i didn't really know what to expect or do. I didn't have inspiration i was just going with the flow

Editing

I used Adobe Lightroom to make the light parts brighter and the dark parts darker.

In my camera bag

Back then i had my trusty A33, a 18-55mm kit and a 55-200. Cant remember where it came from. Now i use a canon 70D with a 18-55mm which i rarely use and a 75-300mm which is my primary lens

Feedback

It really doesn't require much. If using a zoom lens zoom in and out a few times, doing this gave the photo a few rings of fire. I did this long exposure free hand because i forgot to bring my tripod. And you also need friends to spin the wool. This is quite easy to replicate all you need is patience, like any photo.
