Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in a park near our home is West Seattle. Lincoln Park is a favorite, to wander around in the fall, capturing spider webs, colorful leaves, and scenes of the beach and ferry traffic.

Time

I believe this was taken in the early evening, just before sunset. The light was still bright, but gave enough shadow to be able to really see the beads of droplets hanging from the web.

Lighting

The early evening light provided streams of sun and shadows among the trees and bushes in the park.

Equipment

Canon - EOS Rebel. No tripod - just close up.

Inspiration

Spider webs are amazing, and when they hold a beautiful strand of water beads, they are even more stunning! I chose to do this one in black and white, one of my favorite formats.

Editing

None.

In my camera bag

As a hobby photographer, I tend to be a minimalist (for now). I carry the very basics around in my bag. Two lenses, batteries, extra memory cards. When I retire, my bag will get more use and become more full of fun stuff - lenses, tri-pods, etc.

Feedback

Don't get so close that the little guy that spun this dream catcher, jumps up to your face! And, be prepared to get up close, step into wet bushes, get your shoes mushy, and do yoga moves to capture just the right shot!
