Photographed during my 52 week project. I challenged myself to take one conceptual image per week for a year. This image was photographed on the 43rd week. Colleen Bachmann. I met Colleen Bachmann via Model Mayhem. She really wanted to collaborate with me. She organized everything! She contacted her talented make-up artist friend Alanna Wheeler and hair stylist David Greenwood for the photoshoot. I collaboration with strangers I met that day! At the time I want my image to have the ability to communicate a story. I decided to make a small series about a woman tied down breaking free. The first image shows Colleen captured in rope in a scenic boulder field . Second image Colleen has escaped the rope but arm as still bound. Until she finds a sword in the stone and is finally able to break free.

Location
Photographed in Skaha Bluff near Penticton B.C Canada. We hiked a couple kilometres to get to a bolder field high up in the mountains.Time
Photographed during sunset in early April 2014.Lighting
Throughout the day the weather was changing dramatically. I don't use any lighting equipment. I only use natural lighting. Most of the time I find light reflects beautifully near rock walls ect.Equipment
My Cannon Mark D III was attached to my broken tripod. After taking the main conceptual image with my 50 mm lens. I switch the focus point on my lens to manual. Using the Hähnel Combi TF Remote Control & Flash Trigger we (Alana and David) threw glitter into the frame. Into photoshop I would combine it into one final image.Inspiration

Yes, I merged all the glitter layers I took at the location into one final image in post production. In my camera bag
Now I only use my Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L with my Cannon Mark D III. Hähnel Combi TF Remote Control & Flash Trigger .Feedback
My best advice would be collaborate with people! You never know what a group of creative individuals can create together! This image wouldn't be possible without David, Alana, or Colleen!
