View of the front side of Perito Moreno Glacier, Patagonia, Argentina. Perito Moreno Glacier is located in Los Glaciares National Park, in southwest Santa Cruz province, in Patagonia, Argentina. It's the world's third largest reserve of fresh water, with an extension of 250 sq Km. The front part of the glacier exceeds 60 m above the water at its maximum height. This glacier shows a surprising and curious phenomenon, in which the great mass of ice is always advancing, causing buildup, rupture and release giant blocks of ice in its front side. The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of only three Patagonian glaciers that is growing.
