Dogtrot Cabin House built in 1849, located in Dubach, Louisiana. What makes these homes unique is there is a breezway that goes thru the middle of the home, making kitchen and bedrooms and this one has a loft also, i would say inconvenient for this day and age. I couldn't imagine going in and out to get to the different rooms! Yes most of the home needed little repair, the chimneys are originals. It's really a beautiful place and to know a man built it in 1849 and it's still in living condition. A great carpenter he was! The home is the oldest structure in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana.
