Overwintering Monarch Butterflies in California.

These butterflies fly from as far as Canada to central Mexican fir forest.
Monarch butterflies are the only insect that migrate to a warmer climate that is 2,500 miles away each year.
Monarchs cluster together to stay warm. Tens of thousands of monarchs can cluster on a single tree.

Although it is rare to see clusters at this time of the year in California, I was lucky enough to capture some today. An amazing view. Best time to see Monarch clusters, larvae in California is October, November and they hang around till mid February.
