Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo during one of my night shifts at the National Gallery of Canada.

Time

The was around 11 at night. I remember it being very cold and every second i spent outside i wanted to just quit and go back inside. Night photography is one of my favorite things to do even when its -20 outside.

Lighting

Not much to say about lighting, it's more the lack of lighting that was an issue. I compensated by having a sturdy tripod and a slow shutter speed.

Equipment

I used my very first DSLR a Nikon D5100 with a 18-55mm kit lens. In addition, i used a tripod.

Inspiration

I walk by this art piece every day on my way to work. And I've always wanted to take a nice pic of it. The night i went out i was determined to get the perfect picture of the Spider at night.

Editing

Yes, i used lightroom raw file editor to clean up the noise that was in the picture.

In my camera bag

All i need is my camera and a tripod.

Feedback

Yes, If you live in Canada like i do, make sure you wear some warm clothes. it also wouldn't hurt to have some tea or coffee to help keep you warm. Secondly, try using a very sturdy tripod to avoid any vibrations. Lastly, have fun go out with some friends and enjoy each other.
