This photo is taken at home in my kitchen. Zazie was sitting on the table, intensely watching something my human eyes are no able to see.Time
I was taking some photo's for my photography-course. It was evening and already dark outside. I don't remember the other photo I took. But suddenly, on the backgrond, I saw her being so concentrated and beautiful so it was very easy to capture her.Lighting
It was dark outside so the lights from the kitchen were on. I made myself a little studio to make the photo for my course. But where Zazie was sitting, the was nothing more than my home lightning.Equipment
This was made with a Canon 450D, no flash, so really basic.Inspiration
I just love my cat so much. She has this combination of softness and intense concentration. I wanted to portrait her character like I would do with a human being.Editing

I really have very basic equipment as I am a starter. Sometimes I get frustrated and I want to buy myself some better material. But on the other side, it learns me to concentrate on the essentials of photography, the basics of this language. I even sometimes work with a pinhole for the same reason.Feedback
I believe taking a good picture is to look for the underlying structures and characters of any given place, being or object. Going to the core of where you are or who you are with. To make a connection and translate this in a visually interesting language. A good way to do this, is to simply love what you see. And loving to show other people what you see, through your photograph. To do this with your own animal is a privilege and quite easy, as the bond between a person and an animal can be so deep and pure.
