So it is. We, that means my family, both the Portuguese and British were there in WWI ... then the British side of my family had to go again, that time then as fighter pilots of RAF and also as Air Gunners in the battle of Britain and many other air battles in WWII ...

Respect to them all. My great Grandfather was in the Somme, killed two German gunners and saved a nurse by giving her his gas mask. He peed on some old rag and held that over his face to protect himself from the gas.

Amen to that! My Dad fought in Egypt, with the South African forces in the South African Tank Corp, in WWII. I also know that my Grandfather fought on the side of the Brits in the Boer war. Don't know of any of my family who might have fought in WWI
