Location
Pre-covid I used to have a photography day around London & this was on 1 of my trips, while waiting for train at Mornington tube station.Time
I believe it was early afternoon. As it was on the underground, I didn't take much notice.Lighting
I wanted to blur the train, so I used an nd filter to stop the lights burning out. As it was artifical light, I was shooting in b&w to avoid an orange tinge.Equipment
Shot on my 600d with 18-35 lens, tripod mounted as it was a long exposure shot.Inspiration
The underground has a smell & sound you can only portray by careful editing. A slight blur of train gives a sense of movement & the hdr is just subtle enough to show the textures and materials. Mainly I was drawn to the tiles and the station named spelt out in a darker coloured tile.Editing
I darkened some of the lighted areas & added a hdr filter to it & then played with settings so it wasn't overdone. In my camera bag
wide/ telephoto lens, hdr filters & flashgun as well as tripod.Feedback
If doing hdr, make it subtle. shooting undergrounds gives you a choice of bends & angles, aswell as signs, lights puddles & reflections. take same shot at different shutter speeds, blurred images are more interesting if they hold detail.
