I name all my photos in order to keep some kind of point of reference. I shot this while in North Mississippi in January 2015. I called it "Looking Behind." At the time, I thought what was in front of me was much more beautiful and inviting. If I've learned nothing in the last year, it has been that, yet again, living in the moment, for good or for bad, is the best place to be, for this was not truly behind me, it's just what I saw in my rearview mirror in that moment.
My new year's resolution? Again, it would be to stay in the moment, which means seeing what's in front of me and in my rearview mirror, criss-crossing wires and all.
Sometimes that means you're right on the line between what's in front of you and what you can see behind... just like this shot: I could see the Tennessee line and the Mississippi line sitting from where I shot this pic.
It's all about living, really living, regardless of whether we think it to be what we want it to be or not.
Happy New Year to you all
