New Caledonia is a French Island to the East from Australia. Landscape and vegetation is very different on both sides of the north-south chain of mountains. Est coast is very wet and green, due to the winds blowing from the East and stopping on the steep slopes of the mountains. West coast, pictured here, is flatter and more dry. Beefs, deers and other animals are grown on that side by kind of cowboys.
