Dragonfly

This photo was shot in a state park in Myrtle Beach. The Dragonfly is a really significant symbol in my family. When my grandfather passed away during major heart surgery, my grandmother and her children went to see a medium. Before that everyone had thought my grandfather was a butterfly because one day my grandmother was sitting on the small beach of Caroga Lake, and a butterfly came to her side and sat with her and watched the sunset, and stayed until she got up and went on with her night. When they went to see the medium, she said that he was not a butterfly, he was a dragonfly (the reason escapes me at the moment, though). This particular dragonfly... photographing it was an amazing experience. It let me get so close to it, and even let me stroke its back. It was an experience I will never forget.
