This photo was taken in my studio, with a friend's three Golden Retrievers. My friend was a huge fan of Downton Abbey at the time, and came with all of these great props including hats, scarves, and ties for the dogs. Sadly, her oldest Golden passed away only a few weeks after the session, so these photos are even more treasured.Time
This was taken in late morning, if I remember correctly. Since it was an in-studio session, the time didn't really matter.Lighting
I used a mix of natural light and a bit of studio lighting off to one side.Equipment
I shoot Canon, and I believe this was with my full-frame 6D and my 50 mm 1.4 lens. I'll have to go to my website and check EXIF info to be sure.Inspiration
I answered part of this in the first question, but my friend was concerned that her oldest Golden's health was beginning to fail. She was also ruing the end of the Downton Abbey series on PBS, so we decided to do a fun shoot that would combine the dogs with DA props. Her old girl got a bit tired by the end, and dropped her head with this wonderful hat, and I was ready.Editing
I do very little post-processing, preferring to edit in the camera while shooting. I have a MacBook Pro with iPhoto, so that's the extent of my post-processing when I do it - usually a crop, a white balance check, and a bit of brightening, if needed. In my camera bag
I have two Canon DSLRs - a full-frame 6D, and a crop sensor 7D. On the 7D, I almost always have my Tamron 18-270 compact zoom lens - I love that one! The 6D usually carries a fixed lens - 100 macro, 50 1.4, or 85 for portraits. I just purchased the Tamron 28-300, so now have a compact zoom for the 6D, too, and am excited about what will come from that!Feedback
