Tuesday night I noticed that there was ice starting to form at the edges of the east lagoon as we went past. The following morning I looked out and saw that the pond in back and frozen over entirely and was covered in Canada geese (and a trio of young mallards). Mostly asleep until I came out to get pictures and look around, they left impressions where they'd slept, and in places had kept patches of slushy thick water open. I managed to get some great pictures from all around the pond. In a lot of these shots you can see how buildings are still casting long shadows and the dawn light is slowly creeping onto the pond and banks in patches.
I may have captured either a romantic or bionic goose here, I am uncertain.
