I took this photo in my backyard as a request for a student ID card. I am self taught and always learning and trying to better my technique.Time
I believe I took this in the afternoon. I try to do most of my shooting when my 2 yr old is napping, so can't say precisely the hour but most likely was mid afternoon.Lighting
I love taking portraits outside, I don't like using a flash and like to play around with nature lighting.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 30D (no flash)Inspiration
I was asked to take this photo for a student ID.Editing
I did edit in Lightroom and photoshop, playing with exposure, colour, contrast etc. Its definitely a challenge editing photos since I have no training in lightroom or photoshopIn my camera bag
I love my 100mm macro lens also my 50mm lens and always have my tripod. I also carry a few lenses that attach to my phone just in case I don't have my camera with me.PFeedback
Outside lighting I find is the best and with all the editing software out there try different times of day and play around with the exposure....never stop taking pictures you never know when you may catch that gem. Something as simple as being asked to take a photo ID picture can turn into something of a piece of art.
