The photo was taken from the entrance of American University of the Middle east, Kuwait. This cat was lost or homeless, or just taking a stroll around its neighborhood.Time
Around 11:30 PM , after covering the University Athletics Association (UAA) of Kuwait Football tournament, I was leaving the university. then this cat caught my attention. It look like hungry, I gave some food and lean forward to touch it. Then it showed me a wild face like "Don't touch my food" . Quickly I prepared my camera and light, asked my friend to do the same to see angry face again and "Click"ed.Lighting
I used off camera flash. a trigger and speed light flash with hard diffuser. u can see the flash is coming from the left lower angle from a distance. I placed it on the ground to make a slight 'light and shade' effect, that enhanced the black and white picture.Equipment
This was shot in a Canon 5D Mark III with a 70-200 ; 2.8 zoom lens with an off camera flash and trigger.Inspiration
The interest on a stray cat that getting angry to the feeder by thinking that he is coming again to take the given food away. is n't it funny?Editing
Usually B/W photos need little processing, slight adjustment in the shadows and highlight, increased little contrast and added little sharpness.In my camera bag
I have a lot of stuff packed in my camera-bag, but the things that i carry depends on what kind of photos that I am gonna take. usually when I go out i have an intention to take a particular kind of photos. Normally I take my canon 5D Mark III with its EF 24-105mm f/4L lens, Canon 70-200 F2.8 lens, Sigma 8mm f3.5 Circular Fisheye., Tripod, Phottix TR-90 Remote, Phottix 5 in 1 Light Multi Collapsible Reflector, and fully charged batteries with empty memory cards.Feedback
Such kind of photos are accidental, act immediately. If you take time to find a camera angle or light source any other thing , the subject will move and you will not get the same emotion again. Take it now or never. There is other scenarios which need a lot of time, preparations and efforts as well.
