Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my studio.

Time

At night.

Lighting

I used a warm, diffused light from above the flower.

Equipment

I used my Cannon (can't recall the model it was a few years ago) with no tripod or flash.

Inspiration

I love photographing flowers.

Editing

With this photo, very little post-processing was needed, just some cropping and slight tone adjustment.

In my camera bag

Two cameras, one with a zoom lens attached, several filters, extra lens caps, several lenses, a lens cleaning kit, a table top tripod, a full size tripod, an automatic shutter release, a laptop and a portable light kit.

Feedback

I take many flower shots at night, usually in my studio where I can control the lighting. The key is lighting and composition. Flowers are like portraits, you must pose them and bring out their best qualities with the correct lighting.
