Behind The Lens

Location

Took this at local wild bird reserve kiltonga co down northern Ireland

Time

Late afternoon

Lighting

Lighting was dull raised iso 1250 f8 and shutter speed 500 single spot metering

Equipment

Nikon d5100 tameron 70/300 lens no flash

Inspiration

Noticed movement and was hoping to catch the swan taking off and was lucky when he posed for me wings up

Editing

Slightly cropped the picture and darkened slightly

In my camera bag

I usually carry when out on a wildlife shoot a tameron 70/300 and 150/600

Feedback

Experiment I use manual mode single spot metering always take test shots adjust iso stay f8 unless very poor light always check your light metering shutter speed . Patience and luck each day brings something new I am still learning and most importantly have fun
