I took this photo at my house. I went on line and got this idea. First I hung up a white sheet and covered it with tiny white lights. Then I put pillows on the bed for the child to lean on. Next I added the front lights and Christmas balls.Time
I shot this during the day so I could get natural light coming in through the window.Lighting
The front lights shine up on the child's face and add a twinkle in his eye. Other than that I used natural lighting. No flash.Equipment
I used a Canon 7d set on a tripod with a 50mm portrait lens.Inspiration
I saw a similar picture on Pinterest which gave me the inspiration to try it. It was a lot of work setting everything up but worth it!Editing
I shot this image in RAW and processed it in Photoshop. I lightened it up a little and added more background lights with the "stamp".In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon 7d with a 24-105L lens. I also like to bring along my 70-200mm lens. If I plan to shoot wildlife pictures I carry my 100-400mm lens also.Feedback
It takes a while to set this up. If you go to the trouble to do it you should line up several babies to photograph!
