Location
It was for a story we were doing at the paper. Florida Weekly in Palm Beach County, FL. It was taken at the International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL.Time
Was taken around 6:45am, wanted the sunrise behind the horse.Lighting
It was sunrise so it was a low light shot. ISO was set around 1600. Same I use for concerts.Equipment
Nikon D800 I think I had a 24-70 2.8 or a 17-35 2.8 lens.Inspiration
Was trying to find a way to shoot the jumpers as they were practicing for an up coming meet. I kept walking around trying to find a good position. Came across a part of the fence that was broken on the bottom and put the camera through the hole and shot away as the jumper came by and this is what I ended up with.Editing
Not really, maybe a little contrast and saturation. In my camera bag
Nikon D800 and D4s, 17-35, 24-70 and a 70-200. All 2.8 Always carry both tripod and mono pod. Shutter release cable is a plus.Feedback
Low light shots can be difficult on moving objects. Fast lens is the key and a full frame camera. Don't be afraid of cranking the ISO up. Grain can be taken out in post. Camera has to be as still as possible.
