This was taken in Vietnam at a local market when purchasing items to cook at a cooking school demonstration in Hoi An. The lady was taking a break from cleaning fresh fish and at the moment she smiled I was able to capture this image of her.Time
It was close too noon as we were preparing for our cooking lesson.Lighting

I wanted to capture an image of Vietnam and had previously taken photos of happy children in and around villages plus a few of local women selling their wares on small boats on the lakes at Halong Bay but this image at the market summed up the people of Vietnam as they grow older and have worked all their lives.Editing
I improved contrast and brightness to highlight her facial features.In my camera bag

Some photos are very impressive when photographers have taken the time to position themselves at the right time of day in the right environment and 'waited' for that special moment. On this occasion I can honestly say I was there at the right moment with simple gear at hand and a quick click of the camera. The opportunity was there.
