CArdoness Castle is located near Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway, and sits on the edge of the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park. This photograph was made in August this year at the end of the Perseid Meteor Shower, and I was lucky enough the catch a meteor in the photograph along with the Milky Way. The castle was lit during the exposure using a powerful head torch, although a bigger problem was dealing with the converging verticles, as the castle sits on the top of a steep-sided hillside.
