I was with my family visiting Mount St. Helens. I was amazed at the destructive power of the mountain's famous eruption of May 18, 1980. But more impressive was seeing how nature was rebuilding the environment around the destruction. I thought the shot exemplified nature's ability to rebuild itself. I liked how the log led my eyes to the mountain as if it was pointing out the culprit of such devastation while the new flowers next to it were the focal point of the shot.
