I took this photo in my little sister's front yard (her name is Kyara) when I was doing her molding shoot she wanted me to do. It's was around the end of summer in 2015. I only get to see her 2 times a year so during the summer visit we like to do a sister photo shoot, it mostly consists of pictures i take of her and pictures i use my tripod and timer in order to get both of us in the picture.Time
It was close to dusk when I took this picture of her. And I think this light complements her well and brings out her natural color.Lighting
In this picture I used the natural light and I lightened it up just a tiny bit in the Pixlr photo editor that I sometimes use. In most of my pictures I use the natural light and then in the editor I lighten or darken to get the desired picture i want.Equipment
I just used my FujiFilm Finepix S camera and the lens was 24x superwide that came with the camera. It is the first and only camera I have so I like to refer to it as my child or my baby because I take good care of it and I have had it for 2 years.Inspiration
Me and Kyara were sitting down in her yard trying to come up with new poses to do when I looked up and she was looking at a cloud and in my mind I thought "Wow that would make a great picture." so I told her to hold still, tilt her head up a little bit more, look to the right away from the camera and open her mouth slightly.Editing
I normally don't, I just take around 10-20 pictures of the same thing from different angles, pick the ones I like then edit them to what I want them to look like. Editing a photo like this one that I want to be exactly what it looks like in my head takes me 2 to 3 days to finish. In my camera bag
I normally have my camera, my travel sized tripod, the computer connector cord, batteries, and an extra SD card.Feedback
I would say be descriptive on how you want your model to pose, and if they have toruble doing it gently guide them to how you want it. Then try taking multiple pictures at different angles and choose which ones you like then edit them. But all that matters is that you have fun taking pictures and that you show that love in the picture, because photography is so much more then just taking a picture, it's about heart and passion. Another thing I have for advice is have something that inspires you to keep doing photography, for me it is my grandma Chris who loves my pictures and the feeling I get when I'm behind the camera. So all in all just live by this saying I always tell myself "Put some of you and your heart in the picture so the people seeing it can feel what you feel."
