Location
I took this photo on the River Ganges in Sangam - Allahabad. This point is the the confluence point for 2 of India's major rivers Ganges and Yamuna. Color of water for the 2 rivers is distinctly different. The intermix creates a unique scene. Perhaps that is one of the reasons for many birds getting attracted at this place.Time
I took this shot early morning just after sun rise. On clock terms it would have been around 07:30 AM , on 9th November 2015.Lighting
Vast sheet of river water , couples with the just risen winter sun make the lighting near perfect.Equipment
I used a Sony H 50 camera. No special lenses, no flash.Inspiration
One of the core objective of my trip to this place was to experiment sun rise shot on the waters of River Ganges. Since I wanted to avoid land, I journeyed to the center of river on a boat. During this journey these birds became bonus. They are so accustomed to the people in boat that they fly by pretty close , expecting you feed them with crumbs.Editing
I just cut of some extra glare that was coming due to sun glow.In my camera bag
Apart from the camera, I carry a macro with me. Close shots of flowers is my another favorite shoot topic.Feedback
You should study the local culture and act accordingly. Birds fly closer to the people who are dressed similar to the boat rowers. Do not pick a motorized boat as that drives birds away. Also offer the food crumbs very gently. They will try to pick from you hand also.
