Took this picture at mid morning around my pond at home. Used a close-up lens and gorilla tripod because of the low level. Members of the family of the Tetragnathidae are often found in damp, swampy habitats. Some folks call these “stretch spiders,” because when at rest, or when frightened, they strike a uniquely “elongated” or “extended” pose, with the two long, skinny front legs stretched straight out before them, and the hindmost pair stretched behind. Also called long jawed orb weavers.
