Location
This photo is of my grandchild and was taken at Zoo Atlanta, late morning, in August, 2015.Time
The photo was taken at around noon but the area was somewhat shaded.Lighting
Some natural light comest through and lends its focus to just where the subject needs it. I used a flash, as well.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 60D, 18-200mm f/5.6 lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I noticed her reflection in the window and began shooting her with her 'blankie'- of course, she's my granddaughter- what else does one need to be inspired!Editing
I converted the image to black and white using Tonality. In my camera bag
The main lens I carry is my Canon 18-200mm. It is compact, lightweight and has a wide magnification range. It features a wide focal length range from normal to telephoto. If I do carry another, it is my Canon wide angle 10-22mm. I sometimes will take a tripod if I anticipate needing it. I prefer to keep my equipment minimal and to do the best I can with what I have at hand. I prefer not to have to keep changing lenses or getting over- involved with the camera, lenses, etc My focus is on the surroundings and in trying not to miss the shot!Feedback
I think this type of reflective image lends itself to black and white as it is less distracting and creates a pensive, mellow mood. Just stay vigilant, and don't overplan; you never know when the inspiring shot might present itself!
