I chase sunsets and am grateful to live a few short blocks from the Pacific coast. The Pacifica Pier is a special place for me to people watch during the day, take my dog for playtime and photograph. The cloud formation all day were amazing and I hoped they would put on a show at sunset which they did :)Lighting
No lighting was used but sunset has the best lighting for photography.Equipment
I shot this handheld. I had just received my new Sony a7 that day, but had not set it up yet, so i shot this with my Sony NEX-3N with the 16-50 lens.Inspiration
Those clouds were incredible all day, i couldn't pass up the sunset. I even left work 30 minutes early to catch it.Editing
This was sadly shot in jpeg so no post processing was done. I now shoot 100% in RAW.In my camera bag
I usually have a spare battery, lens wipes, blower, flashlight, remote and ND filterFeedback
Find a spot to shoot and keep going back until you have the ideal sky. Took me a few years to get the perfect sunset :)
