It was late afternoon, deep into the winter. Fog blanketed the entire day, casting a surreal look over everything.Lighting
I had captured several images of Tundra Swans a few days earlier, under sunny conditions. The images were okay, but unremarkable. The fog and mist however, seemed to lend an enchanting cloak to the surrounding scenes. The sun tried to break through, and on this image, it was enough to make the snow white feathers of the swans nearly glow. It seemed magical.Equipment
Nikon D200 with a 70-200 2.8 Nikkor lens, hand held.Inspiration
Images that spawn imagination and a surreal look are what I focus on mainly. I want to capture the magic of nature, without heavy manipulation in post processing. For the magic to occur, it appears that patience is required, and the opportunity for all the conditions to make the image special. To me, the photo is tranquil and still. It speaks to an inner peace and beauty that lies within, only often gets overshadowed by all the commotion around us in a hectic life...Editing

Sometimes you have to go for a walk, and get in touch with what nature presents to you, then capture that moment in time... to the best of your imagination and your equipment's ability.
