Location
This image was taken just outside my Home Town, at a Raptor Sanctuary in the province of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. Always a great day out and very entertaining with aerial flight displays of some of the different raptors there.Time
This image was taken during a morning display and the eagle was not too impressed at the time, giving one this serious look which I thoroughly enjoyed taking at the time.Lighting
The only lighting at the time was the sunshine.Equipment
I used my Nikon D 7000 with my sharp Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 lens at 1/2500sec and f5 aperture to reduce the depth of field to make the subject stand out from the background. Hand held.Inspiration
My love for wildlife and birds and that very capturing look.Editing
All that was done to this image was the cropping and a little sharpening and contrast. In my camera bag
In my camera bag is my trusty Nikon camera body, now a D500. My favourite lens the Nikon 70-200mm VR11, a Nikon 18-135mm and a 200-500mm Nikon f5.6 depending on whether I'm out on safari or bird watching. A very great lens and value for money is the 200-500mm. The most important is of course a couple of backup batteries and a spare card if needed. A lens cleaning brush and cloth depending on conditions one is going to experience out there. I always go out to capture a better than the last image with much enthusiasm. Always a great day out in the open and unknown.Feedback
This image was quite straight forward when taking it and the main object was to focus on the eye! This is always so important to get the subjects eyes pin sharp.
