Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at Clarks Hill South Carolina

Time

this was taken around midnight eastern time

Lighting

This lighting is moonlight as the stars reflect on the surface of the lake

Equipment

Used a Sony@7Rll camera, the lens was a 24mm sony no flash was fired, i use a Gitzo Mountaineer tripod with a center ball head and used a remote trigger

Inspiration

I was on a camping trip just my dog Caesar and myself, this place is where my dad use to take me when i was young. Clarks Hill Lake has always had a special place where i can go and collect my thoughts and get back to nature. This night the moon was peeking up over the tall pines and the air was cool and clear and the small island off in the distance of the lake you could hear fish jumping. The lake was calm with little waves and you could see the stars reflect off the surface. I took a 15 sec exposure i believe and this picture was the result.

Editing

not to much post-processing it was pretty clear like it was.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my Sony@7Rll with a 24mm, a 90mm macro and a telephoto lens that can go from 25mm to 150mm. My tripod and a longer lens depending on what i might be thinking about shooting that day

Feedback

The only advice i can give is keep trying new things, and be patient. I have been out to take a picture that i was thinking of doing and the lighting was not right or it became cloudy when i wanted to take pictures of stars, you just keep pushing on and it will present itself.
