Location
This photo was taken during one of my boudoir photography workshops that I organize in Bucharest and it was my third collaboration with this particular model. As location I have used the apartment of a very exquisite boutique hotel which had large windows, perfect for the type of photos that I wanted to make.Time
It was in the first part of the day and thanks to the large windows of the room I was able to obtain a perfect mix of natural light coming from outside and ambiental light given by the lamp.Lighting
Although during my workshops I tend to bring studio flashes in locations like this, for this shot I decided to work with strong and direct natural light in order to create the desired atmosphereEquipment
My cameras and lenses are from Nikon. The main camera is a Nikon D750 on which I have most of the time mounted a Nikon 24-70 mm f/.2.8 lens. For such kind of photography I use also prime lenses such Nikon 50 mm f/1.8 or Nikon 85 mm f/1.8. But in my bag I always take with me a Nikon 16-35 mm f/4 and a Nikon 70-200 mm f/2.8 for when I need either wide or very narrow angles.Inspiration
A good friend of mine that is also my favorite make-up artist and hairstylist suggested me the idea. I've look for the proper place, she had chosen the model and there we were, working on this wonderful project.Editing
I always shot in Raw format so every single image must be automatically opened with Camera RAW of Photoshop. Also Photoshop is the only post processing software that I use, together with some add-on filters from Nik Software and On1 such Perfect Effects 9. For this particular photo, I've used some of the filters from Perfect Effects 9, such as: sharpening, a little bit of HDR, one filter to slightly smooth the skin tone and finally a very little vignetting.In my camera bag
Beside my Nikon D750 main camera, I always carry with me a back-up camera, a Nikon D7100. My favorite lenses are Nikon 24-70 mm f/2.8 and Nikon 70-200 mm f/2.8. I got also two prime lens of 50 and 85 mm both with f/1.8. A Nikon 16-35 mm f/4 wide lens is also to be found in my bag. Last but not least, I have two Nikon SB900 flashes for those moments when natural light is not enough.Feedback
Build yourself a nice team with a hairstylist and a make-up artist. You will be surprised to see a lot of great ideas emerging from this partnership. Also choosing few models to take part of such team will be very useful for you as a photographer because your models will feel very confident to work on a project they also believe in it.
