Location
I'm pretty lucky to have a great landscape behind my studio! This particular road is just off the property and relatively secluded giving me fantastic opportunities to shoot with an ever changing backdrop.Time
This was a late morning to late afternoon shoot. The series which included this shot was started around 1PM.Lighting
All natural lighting on a beautiful summer day. The truck is painted in a dull/matte black primer making it so much easier to control any glare from the vehicle. Rolling down the passenger window and parking at a slight angle to block any sun glare from the back window, and Wha-La!Equipment
My trusty Canon 5d Mark III and an EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens.Inspiration
These two love-struck teens are friends of the family and I knew them, and their style, pretty well. They wanted a 'couples shoot' and asked to incorporate their love for country-living throughout it. I grabbed my husband's truck and while driving to the shoot I started creating a story line about two love-sick country bumpkins in a small town. This shot was part of that story. I'd share *which* part of that story, but that would ruin the fun of creating your own!Editing
Although this photo looked FANTASTIC in color, muting it to B&W enhanced the focus on the emotion between the couple. In my camera bag
My 5dIII, 24-105mm f/4L & 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses, speedlight and 5 in 1 reflector.Feedback
Create a story line. This helps keep the creative flow going throughout a long day of shooting. As for finding the emotion between couples, I find creating space between you and your clients (to incite a sense of privacy) and requesting movements be slow creates the best opportunities for capturing the greatest shots.
