When this red dragonfly persistently landed on the tip of my car antenna, I waited a few inches away from the antenna, camera in position, and true to habit, he came down and landed a few inches away from the camera lens!The male has a reddish brown face, eyes that are crimson above and brown on the sides. The thorax is red with a fine, purple pruinescence.The base of the abdomen is swollen,crimson with a violet tinge.The transparent wings have crimson venation and the base has broad amber patch.
