This photo was took in my yard. I had just received the Canon SX50 and was trying out the zoom factor; this was the best photo out of all I took on the test run.( at least to me it was)Time
I work a full time job, so a lot of my photo's are taken in the late afternoon, early evening. This shot was late afternoon. I had no tripod, so I just sat on the ground and stabled the camera on my knees the best I could and this is the result.Lighting
All light was natural. The late afternoon sun was just beginning to set so there was no harshness of bright sunlight like you have mid-day. As I stated earlier this was a test shot.Equipment
The camera is a Canon SX50 known for it's zoom capability. I love to be able to zoom from a distance and get a good shot, not always but I try. This camera is more of a souped up point and shoot with dslr capabilities in some areas, but hey it works. Equipment used, just me, my knees, and the camera.Inspiration
I love birds and all types of wild animals. I want to be able to be far enough away from them to let them be in their natural state without fear to be as they are in the wild, and still be able to photograph them.Editing
I am still learning a lot about processing photo's in post, so I am not any expert just an amateur in all aspects. The most that was done with this photo was a small crop and some adjusting of the sharpness. I am still a work in progress in this area as well as taking photo's with good composition and subject matter. In my camera bag
Because I am an amateur, I also own a Nikon D5200 with kit lenses (18-55mm and 50-200mm). I have just received a 35mm. In the time I have been taking photo's, I have found myself shooting in this area most of the time lately. So although I have the above as well as the Canon SX50 for far zoom, I have decided I like the 35mm area for very close up and landscape. I guess you could say, "I am a mixed bag."Feedback
As most of other more experienced photographers say, practice, practice, practice. Shoot all you can, when you can. Study others photo's that resemble the style you like to shoot then develop your own. Research, and more research. I don't think anyone can learn enough, there is always something more out on the horizon not yet done. I am no PRO, but I do have FUN and that is key, get out GO....CLICK! Happy Snapping!
