This barn, taken on the side of the road, was unfortunately torn down 2 weeks after I shot this... in order to make room for new homes. So sad that it happened, but so happy I was able to capture it before it vanished!

Location
This photo was taken in my current hometown of Rolesville, North Carolina right before we moved here. We went to go get ice cream as a family, and I made my husband stop on the side of the road real quick so I could grab this barn in the sunset light. I stepped through thousands of thorns to get it, but it was so worth it... two weeks after this photo was taken, the barn was torn down and now stands a brand new neighborhood in it's place.Time
This was taken during golden hour, around 8:00pm in the dead center of summer. The barn faced the gorgeous sunset light.Lighting
I just wanted the barn to shine in the natural sunset light!Equipment
This was shot about 5 years ago when I first started doing photography, so at the time I only had a Nikon d3200 with a 35mm lens.Inspiration
The sun and the gorgeous old barn with the tall grass... soooo dreamy!Editing
I did not do a lot of post processing. I tend to edit on the lighter side with landscapes, and all I did was highlight the natural tones, enhance the warmth of the sun, and warm up the sky.In my camera bag
Now a days, I carry two Nikon d750s, with a 35mm 1.4, 50 1.8, and a 24-70. I don't use flash unless I'm shooting an event.Feedback
If it makes your heart happy... pull the damn car over and get the shot!
