Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on an old farm outside of Eureka Springs Arkansas around 11am. When we drove by and seen it we had to stop and check it out. Wished we knew some of the history about the place

Time

It was about11am on a chilly Sunday morning

Lighting

I wanted the viewer to see this, forget that it's a photo, and immediately start thinking about the people that used to live here and make their creative juices flow with stories

Equipment

I shot this photo with a hand held Canon 5ti with an 18-55mm kit lens

Inspiration

I wasn't prepared to take this photo at all. We were driving home from a weekend getaway in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and took a different route than normal home. When we drove around a curve in the highway, my wife and I both saw it immediately and just had to stop. We both love history and seeing this obviously well built home that is as old as it is there....we knew it has some interesting history

Editing

Not much has been done as for post processing. Just a bit of color enhancement to get the proper tones but not much at all

In my camera bag

I am an amateur in the photography world and simply love being able to take pictures of vacations or weekend trips, nothing big or outrageous and certainly nothing ever as an official paid photographer. The equipment I use seems to suit me just fine and is nice on my budget so I normally carry my Canon 5Ti with my 18-55 kit lens, a 50mm prime, 24mm prime and an inexpensive 70-300mm.

Feedback

When searching for interesting places with some history, Arkansas is a treasure trove of great locations and very friendly people to help guide you.
