Location
This photo of my fox Terrier, was captured while playing in our back yard.Time
Late afternoonLighting
The lighting in the actual photo was my first time playing with filters in Photoshop.Equipment
Camera with 70-300 lens, a free desktop background. I don't use Photoshop. However I had the opportunity to play and not enough photos to choose from to create a background. I wanted to see what I personally could achieve with the right tools.Inspiration
I was inspired to put this compilation together by the lighting. I love the play of light in natural photography and have since moved on to experiment with minimal editting.Editing
I used 3 layers for this compilation. The first being the dog. The 2nd being the field with the cabin. The 3rd being the the filters for added lighting. Prior completion I adjusted contrast and brightness adding extra warmth in tone to achieve the desired effect. In most of my photography, my edits are very basic, only enough to enhance and colour pop the image. In my camera bag
My camera bag these days is rather full, but at the time of this photo my set up was very basic, and my first camera worthy of capturing a more professional shot. Nikon D3200, 20-300 lens, Polaroid filter lens, hood. Now I carry Nikon D5300 with Tamron AF70-300 tele macro lens, Polaroid lens filter, flash, ring flash, hood and 18-55mm just incase... A heap of charged batteries for the camera and a tonne of batteries for flashes ????Feedback
I've only been doing photography for 8 years. Don't be afraid to experiment. Love what your doing. Even if you don't have top editting programs, you can still achieve great shots. The best guides are the many photographers who inspire you. For myself, I paint and draw, and the camera added a new avenue of adventure for me.
