I shot this from my inside my house, through a glass door, looking out into the front yard. The snow was still lightly falling and I had thrown out some seed.Time
This was taken in the morning a little after 8:00 am.Lighting
The snow was still falling and it was very cloudy but I did not use a flash.Equipment
I use a Canon EOS REBEL T2i, hand held. This was shot 1/250 sec. f/5 170mm at 100 ISO. White balance was set on auto.Inspiration
I love taking pictures of birds, squirrels and other things in my yard. I especially love cardinals because of the beautiful red on the males. I especially love this photo of what I call "The Couple" and getting the male and the female together. It almost appears as if they were to posing for me.Editing
I did not do any post-processing for this one.In my camera bag
I have my Canon EOS REBEL T2i with 18-55 mm lens & 75-300 mm lens, Amazon basics wireless remote control, Neewer speedlite flash with remote, several filters that I am not sure what to do with, an extra battery, and a tripod. I also carry a Panasonic point-and-shoot, just in case. Very amateur stuff, but I am happy with it.Feedback
I am an amateur photographer and I love taking pictures. I take a lot of shots at a time, especially when taking birds in the yard. I have 4 like this one, but this one is my favorite. Being patience is a must. I probably stood still at the door for a couple of hours. Birds do not like sudden movement, so quiet and still are a must as well.
