This was taken on top of some peak in the LA mountains on a camping trip. When we approached the trailhead, we were greeted with a sign that said there would be no water at the top. When my brother and I packed, we were expecting water. Luckily our two other campers brought extra water, but we still had to conserve wisely. Climbing up we endured extreme heat and very little shade. I nearly gave in to heat exhaustion. Near the top, we saw a runner coming down. We asked how far the top was. He told us it was a few switchbacks up and that there was a soda machine at the top. I chose to believe him even though it could have been joke or a made-up motivator to keep going. He was right. It was the best can of iced tea I've ever had and this sunset was a nice treat. In the same view we could watch Disneyland's fireworks show and another fireworks show at a stadium at the same time while listening to a concert that was probably at the Greek.
