Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo in my backyard after finding the dragonfly on a walk. It was irresistible to me as macro photography is a passion for me.Time
It was in the middle of the day and very hot, in the middle of Summer here in Australia.Lighting
With the sun high and hot, for this shot it was perfect as high light for the contrast with the delicate wings was what was needed. I lay the dragonfly on a piece of white paper to increase the contrast.Equipment
Using just my Nikon camera with a macro filter is all I used. Just me and the dragonfly.Inspiration
I just adore the different delicate shapes and patterns of the dragonflies wings. They a like a mini country town of roads. Nature worked its wonders with dragonfly wings! Superb and so interesting.Editing
Other than changing the pic to B & W, I didn't have to do much.In my camera bag
My bag has just my camera, either my 35mm or 18-200 lens and a macro filter for my 35mm. I can afford more. Making the most of what I have is key for me. I wish I had a macro lens!!!!Feedback
Keeping an eye out in nature. It doesn't seem that there is much around but its those moments of luck because you were open to it that counts. I think there is a photo in everything! Its just the way you look at things that makes the perfect one for you. Enjoy.
