I want to thank the Judges who selected my Camel at the Richmond Metro Zoo shot and I give the credit to my Father whose "eye for photography" I inherited and I'm overjoyed! Thanks!

Location
I took this in 2015 at the Richmond Metro Zoo when I took my granddaughter who had just turned 4. I love taking tight close-ups of large animals! Really gets their details up close and personal!Time
As well as I can remember it was around 11:30 ish I think. Right before we took a break for lunch.Lighting
You always want the sun cresting the animal's head like a halo. You can use a fill flash to fill in the dark areas if needed.Equipment
Just my Canon Sure Shot. I was moving fast to keep up with my granddaughter so I just cheated and used Auto setting and let the camera set everything. Works beautifully!Inspiration
Like I said I love large animal photography!Editing
No.In my camera bag
My Canon Sure Shot on excursions like this one and lots of batteries - LOL it uses a lot, especially on videos!Feedback
As you can guess I did not get this close as the camel was in it's "paddock" area of dirt. I used my long lens feature and let the camera do all the lighting adjustments. I just noticed the sun was perfect and started clicking away!
